The institution mandated to address climate change issues in Algeria is the National Agency (ANCC) that was established under Decree No. 05-375 of 26 September 2005. This is an administrative public institution subject to the supervision of the environment minister (Ministry of Water Resources and Environment).
Two ministries, (Ministry of Habitat, Urbanism and Cities and Ministry of Country Planning, Environment and Cities), as well as the Wilaya, have expertise in the area of urbanism and interface between city and climate change.
